Contemporary–The 21rst Century Divide–

After last nights election turn out I have found that my project has gained a greater amount of veracity as I attempt to highlight the ever growing change we are facing as a country racially and socially. My views when I started even thinking about this project have been augmented to an extreme degree. After seeing this evolutionary moment in our history, and more importantly Black History, it has reaffirmed my current position on the migration of Chicago’s Public Housing Community as a “possible” necessary push to integrate mid-west communities, like the one i grew up in, and finally challenging people in their comfort zones of ignorance and misunderstanding. It remains my view that most people base their emotions off their lack of exposure, which makes them simple judgmental idealogues without a vision beyond their backyard without change. My ideology remains the same. I hope these images can function as such exposure and begin a process of understanding and consideration for others outside of ones cultural norm.

IGNORANCE: 1 a: destitute of knowledge or education <an ignorant society> ; also : lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified <parents ignorant of modern mathematics> b: resulting from or showing lack of knowledge or intelligence

In the spirit of this recent vote of hope and progress…I hope these images can in some way be used as a testament and a foresight into the wave of progress to come.
